At Happy Grins Pediatric Dentistry, we offer Nitrous Oxide Sedation (Laughing Gas). Nitrous oxide is one of the safest and mildest sedatives being used for dental treatment. It decreases fear, anxiety, and apprehension, It also lowers the sensation of discomfort, and inhibits the gag reflex, enabling children to remain happy, cooperative, and relaxed for their dental visit. Your child stays fully awake throughout the appointment, engaging and interacting (and often giggling) with the doctor. After treatment, Dr. Patty will place your child on 100% oxygen, which eliminates all the laughing gas from their system ensuring your child leaves the office the same as they came in. We ask that you avoid heavy meals before appointments with laughing gas in order to prevent rare cases of nausea.
